Most transition plans fail before they are ever challenged. Nobody in finance has seen the numbers. I see it constantly: a net zero pledge with no interim targets, no costed levers, no line in the budget. Under AASB S2, if you have a climate transition plan, you must disclose it: the targets, how it is financed, how progress is monitored.
In this module I walk through the seven elements a credible transition plan needs, from ambition through to metrics and disclosure, and the five tests I use to check whether a plan is real or still aspirational. We also look at how Limon Pty Ltd built theirs in eight weeks, with capex and opex numbers integrated into the business plan, not sitting in a sustainability annex. Get this wrong and your plan becomes a liability the moment someone asks for the budget line.
